Merchant House Museum

The Merchant’s House Museum was built in 1832 and was the home of businessman Seabury Tredwell, a Mayflower descendant, and his family for 100 years. Situated on East 4th Street, between Lafayette and the Bowery, amidst a bustling neighborhood undergoing significant restoration, the Museum is a National Historic Landmark as well as a New York State and City Landmark. The Museum interprets the life of a well-to-do family in the 1800s, and its floors are furnished with many of the family’s original furniture, decorative arts, and personal possessions.

The cost for the tour is $20 ($25 for guests), payable in advance.
