The Sarah O. Dunaway Award is given each year to the branch demonstrating the best overall performance in accomplishing the objectives of the Society. It was named for Honorary Governor General Sarah O. Dunaway who served from 2003-2005 and passed away soon after she finished her term as Governor General.
The recipient branch is selected based on ten criteria including branch meetings, programs, communications, support of national projects, participation in the national annual meeting, and participation in local community-based activities that promote the goals and objectives of our National Society. The time period for judging is from March 1st through February 28th each year.
To be considered for the award, branches must submit an annual application. The winner is presented with a plaque and certificate at the Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. held each April.
